Group two or more relevant columns/rows in the same hierarchy level to create another category.

Column Group

Let’s consider the example of grouping products into 2 categories:

  1. Select two columns from Mineral water by Ctrl + Click or Shift + Click.

  2. From the Insert tab, under the Customize section, select Group or use the shortcut key Alt + W.

  1. Give an appropriate name for the group in the dialogue box that appears and click Apply.

  2. To remove the group, select the group name header and click on Remove Group from the Analyze section in the Insert Tab.

Row Group

You can group one or more consecutive rows in the same hierarchy level.

Let’s consider an example of creating a group for the regions under the United States:

  1. Select the required rows by Ctrl + Click or Shift + Click.

  2. From the Insert tab, click on Group from the Analyze section or use the shortcut key Alt + W.

  3. Enter the name for the group in the “Create Group” dialog box that appears and click Apply.

  4. To remove the group, select the group name and click on “Remove Group” from the Insert Tab.
