It is possible to control the display settings of the hierarchy defined in a report using the hierarchy tab in display settings.

Follow below steps to view and set the custom settings to hierarchy.

These options are available by default when no hierarchy is available or table navigation type is used.

When we have data with hierarchy, it shows the below set of options.

Mixed layout

You can view the outline layout even in the Hierarchy layout, by entering 3 dimensions in the Row section. For example, for each record, you can arrange some of the fields in a horizontal row at the top of the Detail section and arrange other fields from the same record in one or more stacked layouts beneath the top row. The following illustration shows an employee report that was created by using a mixed layout.

When we set Category Highlight as On, it highlights the Category column with the applied background color to it.

We can custom the background color by clicking on the custom color pallet.

Enabling a Ragged hierarchy removes the intermediate blank levels in a ragged/unbalanced hierarchy

Show Child Count: Enabling this shows the count of Child under the parent. You can add a number of Child counts on the header node by selecting show child count
